St Albans Football Club

The St Albans Football Club incorporating ‘All Saints Netball Club’ and St. Albans/Breakwater Cricket club was established in the late 1890’s to early 1900’s making our great club one of the oldest in the district.

Built from very humble beginnings the Club is renowned for its commitment, work ethic, mate ship and its ability to rise above any adversity.

The monument that stands at the old entrance to the ground is the test of time. The Club has strong family and community associations and through its on going commitment to the area, is committed to continually improve and enhance its facilities for all in the area.

St. Albans has, since the formation of the Premier competition in 1974 been competitive and tasted success with 2 Premierships and numerous Finals appearances;

1984 - Runners Up
1985 – Runners Up
1987 – Premiers
1988 – Premiers

To maintain our competitiveness at the elite level of Geelong Football against growing competition from other Clubs and sports has required an ongoing commitment to invest in the continued development of our Junior Football program, currently having;

- 2 under 16 Teams
- 2 under 14’s
- 2 under 12’s
- 85 Auskickers.

St Albans also currently provides an organized sporting competition for our female members. The All Saints Netball Club was founded in 2000 in-conjunction with the formation of the Geelong Footbal Netball Structure. The club is committed to the ongoing development and future success of Netball and its association within the Club

The Club operates and maintains its principle Values and Behaviors through our Club Objectives and Mission Statement, these being;

• To be recognized as the leading sporting club within our Region by striving for excellence in administration, sporting programs, recreational facilities and club culture.
• To promote Australian Rules Football, Cricket and Netball in the Geelong and West Coast Region.
• To develop players to a level where they may be sought by higher levels o football, cricket and netball.
• To provide a Family Club culture and environment that encourages the participation and involvement from all members of the family to feel comfortable, safe and at home at St. Albans.
• To provide a Club environment of an exceptional standard, where players, staff, parents and members are able to provide the needed development of players to reach their full potential.
• All members are responsible to enhance that atmosphere and contribute to the excellence of any programs.
• The club structure/framework working together to provide players the best opportunity to develop.

We have experienced disappointing results on the playing arena over the past few seasons, but are all committed to see our Club gain respect and return to its position as a power in the premier competition of the Geelong Football League.

Some of the major activities that are planned for 2007 include;

• The club will be re-structuring its committee in the forthcoming season to increase its size and reduce some of the workload burden and duplication of activities.
• Building and Maintenance Projects
• Recruitment of Senior Club Coach and Coaching Assistants to accelerate the development of our list combined with assistance to recruit the best available players that are of good character, work ethic, disciplined and team orientated.
